Pros:

  • Comes with Windows 10 in S Mode
  • By putting the processor in low power state the battery can last for almost 6 hours

With a 15.6-inch, Full HD IPS display, the Acer Aspire 5 Slim Laptop is an excellent slim and stylish workhorse that packs a lot of powerful specs at a great price. The inclusion of a 4GB of DDR4 RAM is a huge plus over the N-Series that only offers DDR3.

The AMD Ryzen 3 3200U is a 2.5-GHz CPU/4-Core processor that is great for modern multi-tasking performance. Moving on to the graphics, the Intel HD Graphics 630 is an impressive choice for a laptop without giving up multi-tasking capabilities.

To power the graphics, you get the AMD Radeon Vega 3. Again, just like the CPU, this graphics card is great for multi-tasking while still being able to offer full HD video decoding. At this size, the Acer Aspire 5 is able to offer video-out support to your primary displays.

For storage, you get a 128GB SSD with enough room for most programs and files needed. For a laptop in this size, that is quite the compliment.

Just like the other laptops on this list, the Acer Aspire 5 has a Windows 10 operating system. But, it is one Windows 10 in S Mode. The S Mode is a streamlined version of Windows 10 that sacrifices some of the functionality of regular Windows 10 for performance gains.

The Acer also comes with a powerful NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU. This GPU is great for moderate to low-power gaming. It comes with 4 GBs of RAM which is more than most mobile gaming laptops, which are usually only equipped with a 2 GBs of RAM.
