Today's review is going to look at the 2018 HP 255 G6 15.6" HD Wide Screen Business Laptop Computer.
Let’s see if it lives up to the hype.
- Affordable price
- Easy usability
- Average performance
- (Compared to other Notebooks)
The HP 255 wins the laptop of choice mirror award for the physical design. This is the tall and thin laptop for the business professional who wants to stand out from the crowd. HP decided to marry a brushed aluminum finish and copper accents with the new black HP logo. The overall design is sleek, nice and light.
The HP 255 scores well on horsepower and offers an Nvidia 7th generation processor, which is a big boost in performance.
The keyboard is one of the best in the industry and this laptop does not disappoint on that front. It is well-fitted and has great key travel and the keys feel responsive and sound great. The trackpad is no slouch either and is appropriately large to allow easy navigation.
The 256GB drive is ample for this size laptop for bulk storage and it has a card reader, which comes in handy a lot. 1 TB of storage will get you started on your edits.
The integrated microphone and speakers provide decent sound, and the only downside is that they are not thunderbolt compatible.
The battery life seems to be stretching a little over an hour, and you can always use the USB port or HDMI out. There is only 802.11ac wireless so you might want to plug in a little more often than you would on a newer model.
The HP 255 comes with a backlit keyboard, a 1080p webcam with dual array digital microphones, Bluetooth 4.2, and Microsoft Windows 10.
Overall the HP 255 is a great pick for the business professional on a budget. If you need full-time access to internet, you will want to look at an entirely different breed of laptop, but for a mobility device, the HP 255 is hard to beat.
