Pros:

  • High quality in low lights
  • Cheap
  • Perfect 720p for either chat or video recording
  • Small
  • No hustle with included tripod
  • It’s the only webcam that supports both USB and USB-C
  • It works very well with Raspberry Pi
  • Works under Linux.

The PAPALOOK PA452 claims to provide HD video chat, but without a doubt it is the most under-rated option of all the cameras in this category. It's 1080P, but not very sharp. The audio is picked up quite nicely, there's enough resolution for you to zoom in and out, and it tends to capture much more detail in low-light and dimly lit environments than most other webcams I've used.

It's a plug-and-play device that works well with Skype, AIM and other online calling services. I even use it to play music on videos when I need to take time off to study (and desperately need something to listen to while trying to get through the list of material for an upcoming exam).

I sometimes use the webcam for video blogging and it does just fine. Just be aware that the audio is a little on the quiet side, and you'll probably want to get a separate microphone to use with my webcam.
