- * Cloud-based accessories support * Ability to add up to 15 sensors * Reasonable price * Ease of use
I recently purchased the Wink hub for my home which enables me to control all my smart devices no matter where I am. I am able to have the same dashboard to control all of my smart devices via my iPhone (Apple), Apple Watch, Android and Android devices. It's a helpful feature to keep me connected to my home without having to login and perform additional steps when I get home.
The hub is two-way, meaning I can communicate with my devices from this device and the devices communicate back to my hub. It also has wall-mounted and dock switch options to get your devices situated in a way that best suits you and your home (see 'Typical Setup' on the Wink website). You can also link your devices to this hub and control them via your smartphone so you can stay connected to your home while you're away.
It has a 'smart' feature that provides notifications to my phone when something changes with my network like the door is opened or when someone is entering and leaving an area that is being monitored. It also provides notifications if I have something that has been out of range for an extended period of time.
I've tested out the Amazon Alexa integration and it works quite well. It's easy to set up and understand and it's nice to be able to tell Alexa to "turn on the light" without having to use a motion sensor to trigger the lighting. I will be very likely invest in more Alexa-enabled devices in the future.
